Which ultimate disc

The difference is not how they fly - it is price, colour range and what your club already throws. If your team plays UltraStars, buy UltraStars. If you are kitting out juniors, the X-COM does the same job for less.

Questions we get asked

What weight disc do I need for ultimate?

175 grams is the regulation weight for ultimate and it is what clubs and competitions play. Every disc on this page is 175g unless the listing says otherwise.

UltraStar or X-COM Ultimate Star?

Both are 175g and both fly to the same spec. The Discraft UltraStar is USA Ultimate approved and is the disc most clubs and competitions have standardised on. The X-COM Ultimate Star is a few dollars less and comes in more colours, including glow and UV.

Which disc should I buy for the beach or the park?

A 175g ultimate style disc is the all-rounder. It is stable in wind, easy to catch, and it is what most people picture when they think of a frisbee. If you want tricks and spin, look at a freestyle disc like the Discraft SkyStyler.

What is the difference between glow and UV discs?

Glow discs charge under light and stay visible in the dark. UV colour-change discs shift colour in sunlight and change back in the shade. Both fly the same as the standard disc.

Can I use an ultimate disc for disc golf?

Not really. An ultimate disc is wide, light and built to be caught. Disc golf discs are smaller, heavier at the rim and built to be thrown a long way into a basket. Different sports, different equipment.

Do you do team and club orders?

Yes. Tell us how many you need and we will quote it with freight included. Custom printed discs are made by the manufacturers overseas and usually land in 1 to 3 weeks.

Is there a disc that suits kids?

A lighter disc is easier for smaller hands and safer to catch. Tell us the age and we will point you at the right weight.

Where does it ship from?

Everything on this page is held here in Werribee South, not drop-shipped, and ships tracked Australia-wide.
